End of Week 2

So, our little man went to the doctor on Friday for his 2 week checkup. And the tale of the tape 2 weeks old, 10 lbs, 22.5 inches long. So, he's growing. We've quickly realized that his 3 month old clothes are a little snug. His cheeks are starting to get a little more chubby and when he stretches out he looks very looooooong.

As you can see here he feeds himself.... Makes a dad proud!!!

Makenzie's getting over her cough. She's very tired and doing her best to keep her distance from Colton. It's been hard for her not being able to give him a hug or kiss, but she's doing a great job. She's actually on her way to The Wiggles concert with her mimi right now. Hopefully, she makes it through it ok and sleeps very well tonight.

What do you know a surprise thunderstorm watch. We went from no breeze to strong winds and alerts popping up on the TV in the blink of an eye. Welcome to Houston, TX.

My internship at Hewitt is over and freshman football camp starts tomorrow. It'll be nice to be out of the cube, but I'll have to acclimate myself to the 100+ degree weather rather quickly. Two-a-days start a week from tomorrow, so I'll be at school early practicing and then back at it again later in the evening.

Week One

Well, not much time to write at this point in time. Here are some pictures from this week. I thought I had some others, but they must not be on the computer yet.

I'll have to work on that in my spare time. LOL! We're having a bit of a rough week number 2. Amy and Colton are battling thrush. It's affecting how Colton eats and is painful for Amy as well. We're praying that the meds work quickly so everyone can move past this issue. However, until then we'll be boiling and washing everything very well.

I have just 2 more days at Hewitt and then football camp starts on Monday. (Monday? I though it was Wednesday!!! So much for having a couple of days to "chill".) Well, off to the weight room for me...

More to come later...

Homebound

Well, we are headed home today! Should be there sometime after lunch. We've had lots of friends come see us the past couple of days. So, it's been a nice stay here at the hospital, but it's time to go home, get situated and get settled in now that we're a family of 4.

Wow! Family of 4. That sounds so cool! Perfect actually.

Aunt Lara, Uncle Dennis, Rebekah, Caleb and Rachel will be stopping by the house later today to meet their respective nephew/cousin. Brad (Amy's dad) will be home from Sudan on Monday and will be coming by to meet his new grandson. Brad has been on a 5 week trip with Aid Sudan and Livingwater.

So, that's it for now. Both mom and baby are sleeping. We will be heading home soon and look forward to seeing everyone.

More to come later . . .

Welcome Colton!!!

Well, yesterday at 12:11 the newest addition to the Weddels arrived. Colton David Weddel was born July 17th, 2008, weighing in at 9lb 6oz and standing (well laying) 21 inches long. He was half and inch longer than his proud, big sis, but one-and-a-half pounds heavier.

Mom and baby Colton are doing great! Both got some sleep last night after Dad got kicked out and sent home for coughing too much. Dad got some sleep too once at home, but we all know this is not about him.

Makenzie is a very proud big sister. She has been anticipating this day for quite some time. She has told us that she will "let Mom and Dad know when brother is crying," and how she wants to help change his clothes, and how she wants to "sit next to brother in the car so (she) can keep (her) hand on his head."

We are now a very blessed, very happy family of four!
